Clothing Closet and Thrift Store
Clients are given clothing vouchers that provide clothes, and shoes for household members. Personal hygiene and baby supplies (diapers, strollers, car seats, bottles, etc.) are also provided if available.

Food Pantry
Qualified Clients are granted food from our on site food pantry. Our food comes from the generous donations of River Cities Harvest, Kroger, Huntington Area Food Bank, USDA Commodities and others.

Assistance Programs
Helping Hands can provide financial aid for utility emergency needs once a year when funds are available. The utility service provider is contacted to determine the amount of assistance required to prevent termination of services. We can only pay the last $100 towards a client's bill. An emergency situation has to exist within the past 60 days. Payments are made directly to the utility provider.

Qualified clients can receive financial assistance for medication purchases. Priority is given for medications that are for: life-sustainment, maintenance, heart conditions, diabetes, post-cancer treatment. Narcotic medications are not provided. Arrangements and payments are made directly with local pharmacies.

Christmas Fund:
Helping Hands offers individuals and families free food and clothing during the Christmas season. Clients must sign-up for the program in November. If the program is full clients will be put on a waiting list.

Health Screenings
Free blood pressure, cholesterol, and sugar screenings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month. These screenings are conducted at the Helping Hands office courtesy of Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
